The Episcopal Church

The Episcopal Church, which consists of sixteen international member states, is part of the Anglican Communion. The Archbishop of Canterbury, The Most Rev'd Justin Welby, is the British equivalent of our Presiding Bishop, The Most Rev'd Katharine Jefferts-Schori. The Rt. Rev'd William H. Love is the bishop diocesan of the Diocese of Albany. Here at Christ Church our rector is The Rev'd Mark Diebel. (The Rev'd Bill and Kathie Clark are pictured in the upper left.)

When we worship we use the Book of Common Prayer, sing hymns and give praise to God, who is our creator, redeemer and sanctifier. Scripture, tradition, reason and experience are four basic legs we use to help us make decisions and seek direction for our corporate and personal lives. Our basic beliefs are expressed in the words of the Nicene and Apostlesí Creeds. The Eucharist is celebrated each Sunday. Each Sunday we read lessons from the Old and New Testaments, always including one from the four Gospels. We value quiet time for prayer and reflection. Our clergy wear colored vestments and our church bears colored altar hangings representing church seasons and Holy Days. For more information on the Episcopal Church, give us a call at 518-966-5713.

The Episcopal Church has a rich choral tradition which includes plainsong chant, hymns, and choral anthems. Our current music service is traditional, sprinkled with some contemporary music. Our organist is Mr. David Spring. Mr. William Peele shares his talents on the twelve string guitar. We invite all who enjoy expressing their faith through music to join us!
